Tragedy

I hate that this is the first "real" post on this blog. Not because I don't want negative posts, or because it's not a June mom affected, but because I hate that anyone, ever, has to write about the death of a child.

On Monday, January 9, 2012, a user from TheBump - SockMonkeySam - took her 4 month old son Zachary to daycare. Later that day, she got the call that no mother ever wants to get. Her beautiful boy had stopped breathing, and couldn't be revived. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.  (Obituary Listing)

Though she was a September mom, not a June mom, our community still grieves with her. When the news came through to our board, many of us prayed, lit a candle, or simply turned our thoughts to baby Zachary's family and friends. I have no doubt that every one who read their story hugged their babies a little tighter that night.

Though nothing can ever heal the wound of this loss, or bring Zachary back, we have set up a Donation Page to assist in purchasing a plant for Zachary's family in his honour. Funds received after the purchase will also be used to benefit Zachary's family or his memory.

With heavy hearts, we remember baby Zachary.
